As one of the first sports medicine specialists on Long Island, Dr. Cherney has cared for high school, college, and professional atheletes for over 30 years. At Stony Brook University he established the Sports Medicine Program and serves as head team physician for Stony Brook and St. Joseph's College.
All-Sport Orthopaedic Surgery was established in 2004 to broaden the scope and availability of state-of-the-art sports injury treatment to all athletes. Dr. Cherney has expanded his practice to include youth sports and older recreational athletes, and continues to do so.
Dr. Cherney has focused his career on the prevention of sports-related injuries. He has spoken on the importance of having automated external defibrilators on the sidelines of sporting events and has presented ways to make athletic facilities safer for all participants.
Dr. Cherney continues to offer his patients the latest, safest, and most effective surgical and non-surgical treatments available.

Arrangements can be made to see Dr. Cherney or other specialized Stony Brook professionals on an urgent basis, including early evening hours.
